ACEI Standard Elements: Candidates are aware of and reflect on their practice in light of research on teaching, professional ethics, and resources available for professional learning; they continually evaluate the effects of their professional decisions and actions on students, families and other professionals in the learning community and actively seek out opportunities to grow professionally.
Semester: 4 Date: 1/12/13-5/4/12
1. Attendance of Wednesday afterschool grade level and faculty meetings and Thursday faculty inquiry meetings. I used these opportunities in hopes of growing professionally as a teacher. Sitting in on meetings with principle and teachers gave me insight to the development, implementation, and reflection on curriculum and teaching methods. I was also introduced to many different teaching styles and methods of teachers from Kindergarten through fifth grade.
2. Taking this opportunity to learn the in and outs of assessment strategies, teaching methods, professional refection, and active engagement in a school setting taught me a multitude I will use in my future as a teacher. I saw first hand how to collaborate in a professional manner within a school community.
